 i finally have the courage to sit down in front of the com and blog about appassionata XI. cause blogging it would mean concert's over, the sec 4s are leaving, and this is how it'll all end. i know it sounds cliche, but this is really how our 3 months of hard work comes to and end with a fantastic, marvellous concert, bringing the whole audi down. and how time flies. it's time the sec 4s are passing down. ok. shall start with the start of the day. felt like santa claus dragging everything to school. and i was having mood swings the whole day. excited and scared. and sad. and anxious. and i dont know what else. went to find mian jun and jasmine during first recess. passed jasmine my scores and she passed me hers. and we wrote encouragement messages on the every top left hand corner of every page. haha. (:and i was supposed to write for mian jun but apparently the LA and CHI teachers decided to occupy the whole class with loads of activites for fear of us getting bored. and hence i got sooo occupied that i couldnt write for her. ): sorrrry! ): had row lunch on the podium in the quadrangle IN NYCB HISTORY. cause it's always batch lunch or section lunch. never row lunch! haha. but then percussion came to crash our row lunch by smearing valencia's birthday cake all over us. :/ hurhur. ended lessons at, then went up to bandroomto set up, then had audi prac. was so freezing cold and i was having moodswings againnn. hurhur. was trying to hpe up jasmine and mian jun cause jasmine was so serious! :/ and i was zi-highing the whole time. they tried the smoke thing againn and OMGGG SO SMELLY LAH. :/ haha. and it's directly behind us somemore. mianjun almost died. and i saw kexin and qianwen laughing at us ok! ): anyway audi was so freaking cold that we couldnt play properly at all. then practiced movements and stuff. went to bathe at 5. surprisingly i was the first to reach the locker showerooms lah. i thought sabrina sped off at top speed but i reached there first. and guoying, yingrui and jiasian were already there bathing before alumni prac. borrowed soap from guoying and kexin cause i forgot my own. :/ then changed into banduniform. qianwen was waiting for kexin in the bathroom and she kept complaining how warm the room was and how slow kexin was. and I BATHE FASTER THEN YEO KEXIN LAHHH. haha. even though i came out like 1 second after her, but she went in wayyy earlier then me! :/ waited for jasmine to bathe finish then went up to bandroom togther. more of crawled cause jasmine was complaining about her slippers. :/ then there was like mad rush in bandroom to give out presents and letter and all! I OVERBOUGHT CHOCOLATES LAHH. wthh. i had like 1 whole pack of blast and half a pack of merci left! gave away the blast to perc. :/ then had dinner with jasmine and mian jun (which is, pathetically, my SECTION.) and read letters at the same time! (: and NUTCASE AND SAMANTHA CAME BACKK! (: and i heard rouhui being lame lah. she was like "where did you get that skirt! i think i have one too!" hahah it was band skirt lahh. :D then a lot of teachers walked past and they were saying "whoa, it feels like we're in a japanese school!" hahaha! (: then after that rushed down to the audi to tune up and stuff. and I SAW THIS!  waliao! still very pissed that THE DOUBLE BASSIST IS THE SHORTEST LAHHH. haha not pissed lah. but WE'RE NOT THAT SHORT LAH. ): stand on stool somemore! then went into the audi to tune up and adjust bows and stuff. and i was like JASMINE YOUR ACTIONS PLEASE DONT RUSH DONT LAGG DONT STONE. please follow the bandd. haha. okayyyyy was damn paranoid by that time. :/ then after tuning up, went backstage while the audience start streaming in. backstage, it was hectic. everyone was jiayou-ing everyone else, and hugging everyone else. saw monica and xiang ting preparing for their emcee speeches and wow they were gorgeous. meanwhile, some of us were crying, some were hyperventilating, but in the end we went on stage and the feeling was wow. it was full-house. we had a full house audience cheering us on, watching us perform. and at 7.30, APPASSIONATA XI began. pirates was AHHHH! <3>
little fugue was quite ok. :/ simple gifts! my favourite! was damn high already. and i kept jumping about lah. and i think percussion was really nice! (: plus the lightings and all! (: aesop's was ahhh! MR LEE IS LOVE. and JIAYING'S DRAWINGGGS. haha! so cute! the audience was damn amused by them lah! (: perc enzem. i think they did really well! i loved techno! and ding said that HUI JUAN LOOKED SO SHUAIII. HAHA. (: hui juan and pat looked damn zai please. cannot stand them! (: during the interval i went out and saw sok, liuyi, shena, zihui, alderbert, ding and ky. and i really want to say, THANK YOU GUYS FOR COMING. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! <3 then after interval was alumni band and junior band. then eighties! i think this was the audience's favourite. we put on our retro hairbands! and the audience was shouting for horns and euphos when they first stood up and danced for billy jean! omggg! hahah. and people were shouting for us during flash dance!!!! ahhhh so nice. and we heard people scream when mr bunny came down with the phantom mask! haha. bunny of the opera! comic relief lahhh. so hilarious. and the end of it, the audience's cheers were really exhilerating! oh man oh man. felt damn high! (: merry window next. i thought it was quite screwed from what i heard. cause it felt like no one was loking at mr lee. :/ but surprisingly the audience thought it was good. SAINTS. OMGGG. haha was damn nevous for this cause i thought my hand would just rot and die from excessive plucking but HEY I SURVIVED. WITHOUT FAKING OKAYY. haha. and i was hyperventilating about the twirl bass part cause i thought the basswould just fall over and dieee but hey it went ok! and i think the actions were quite nice! (: BENNY GOODMAN AHH MY FAVOURITE! was damn emotional alreadyy cause encore. and the audience really called for encore this time round lahh. (: like really really shouted for it! and OH MAN PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING AT OUR "HORN" DANCE! ): but it's ok. WE ENJOYED OURSELVES OKAYYY. :D haha. but then when han sheng sent me this: "my friend say you damn enthu hopping around. HAHA" waliao. i really wanted to dig a hole and burry myself lahhh! ): BUT HEYYY. i was damn high okay!!! I ENJOYED MYSELF AND IT'S OKAYY. (: and i shall just let our audience shout their praises: (ripped from qianwen's blog) Anyways, I watched the Nanyang band concert yesterday night and it was brill!!!!!! BRILLIANT!!! When the last song had ended, everyone suddenly went "ENCORE! ENCORE!" and the band encored twice, although the songs were a bit different :D --- So as for the concert. The concert,base on the reportoire itself,has a 86%(random number) chance of encore. And We were right =D. The audience is abit too hyper,esp the nyghs schoolmates. But at least its not as bad as last weeks nanyang poli's audience! And as for the extra effects/gimmicks,I like it caz its the only 'unpredictable' thing lol The only thing i feel sad about is the injustice for the doll,what has he/she/it done to deserve being hanged on the hook above the stage! *phantom of opera theme* The sound for the band is different from the time when they played during SYF,kind of dropped,but at least they're having fun during the concert. likewise,its a well organised concert. (and im amazed with the audience caring for MR.BUNNY. HE IS SO WELL-LOVED LAH.) --- Then went to NYCB concert (: We were late! Then no place to sit. Had to sit seperately.. horrible. :P Was v.good though. --- den was BAND CONCERT! :D nice nice. good job jo jacey chooyi and NYCB! i love the eighties. (: YAY YAY. (AND I BET EVERYBODY LOVES THE EIGHTIES) --- Yesterday was NYCB Concert. It was great. Totally own us lor... Even their Co-conductor has like 30 years of experience... Not like ours... Oh well... The whole concert was nice. Gimmicks seems a bit similar to ours though... Their junior band quite zhai... Oh well... --- I don't know if I'm biased or whatever but the band sounded pretty in shape for me! Especially SIMPLE GIFTS, it was simply lovely. And funky eighties the gimmicks were whoa hahah andand not forgetting When The Saints Go Marching In! I really enjoyed myself seeing the juniors enjoy themselves on stage. Enjoying every single bit of music they make. Grooviest band no doubt! <3> I miss NYCB! It's a good thing I got forced to join band in saps though I hated band then, all things happen for a reason and He knows best :D I LOVE NYCB. (yes. this is what NYCB is all about! ) --- but nygh campus is so much nicer than hci campus (HAHA) --- went to watch appassionata XI by the nanyang concert band it was FUN :D it was really enjoyable. --- fetch us to the Nanyang Band Concert, Appassionata XI, if i'm not wrong. Anyway, saw the Nanyang pitcher there! The two Becksides kept complaining she didnt recognise them xD My mom was the conductor Miss Chong :D So cool :D Thats mostly why i went to the concert anyway. She got a nice big teddy bear (wearing the Nanyang Band Uniform) and lots of flowers! :D --- [random] hahahah. so like the school is super big and damn nice i must say !THE SCHOOL IS HOT MAN !DAMMMMN FRIGGING NICE TO TAKE PICTURES ! (HAHA AGAINN) --- Here are my comments for the concert. Pirate's Dream: Missed the first 3 movements because Somebody was late, he thought the concert was 8pm.The last movement was quite nice, other than the "quite out of tune" horns, and bad cymbals crashing. Mallets was crisp clear =D Little Fugue: It felt that the band did not practice a lot for this piece and were sight-reading on stage; very messy. Simple Gifts: I quite like the sound of the band.Everything was good, except that the transitions of rhythms for drumset was quite slow.The conductor has to hold the band for her to continue to the next phrase. Aesop Fables: Woodwinds were quite together in running notes, but I cannot hear the Flute section! Mr Lee's voice was quite comical with his "HAHA" (YAY MR LEE! <3> Percussion Ensemble: Under the Sea & Technology:Mallets were good definitely.Bells and marimba missed a couple of notes with "Under the Sea"Drumset was too loud on both pieces - Maybe I was on the first row, that's why.Timpani player was like "hopping" while playing technology? (HUIJUANNNNN HAHAHA.) Alumni Band: Celebration Overture (No Comments) Pirates of the Caribbean - Good sound but the piece was played like so dead - not enough expressions? Junior Band: Simple Serenade - Clarinets were quite together Bavarian B-B-Q - Brasses quite weak? The Eighties: Quite impressed with the gimmicks - I think the audience loved it.The Secondary 2 double bass player played as if her instrument was a bass guitar (EH WHO ARE WHO ARE. if it's me im so going to kill this person! I LOOK LIKE A SEC 2 ?! if it's mian jun, HAHA. comeon lah. she's not sec 2. she's PRIMARY SIX. :D)And I hate the flashing lights during Phantom of the Opera - so blinding! Merry Widow: Beautiful.But I felt that the waltz at the front was a little fast.And, the back part - tempo 200 was a little too slow?But still, good job! When the Saints Go Marching In: Very messy.No one was watching the conductor, and everyone was everywhere. Encore: Benny Goodman - Quite enjoyable. i was damn high and was enjoying myself throughout the whole concert lah. for once, this concert didnt seem like a concert. it seemed like a dream, and i didnt care about what the audience think anymore. anyway, im damn amused by liuyi! SHE GAVE ME A DRAGONFRUITT HAHAHA. and she says cause IT LOOKS LIKE A FLOWER! haha. anyway! thank you everyone who gave me flowers and letter and food! even though im not as xing fu as germaine who receive a bigg bouquet of roses, IT'F THE FIRST TIME I RECIEVED SO MANY FLOWERS OKAYY. i feel so touched! (: THANK YOU THANK YOU AND THANK YOU! (:  letters!  FLOWERSSS <3>  chocolates! (:and I WANT TO THANK THE SEC 4S ALSO. FOR MAKING THIS CONCERT SUCH A SUCCESS. AND MAKING IT SUCH A UNFORGETTABLE ONE. (: namely hui juan for the retro bands and the IT stuff! mellissa for the actions and gimmicks, lightings, banners. jiaying for mr bunny! germaine and shimin for the band bears! and cynthis and shimin for always being there to supervise all of us! (: by the way, after concert saw alot of SJI people sitting behind the auditorium backstage. all waiting for ONE PERSON. omgg. haha. that person knows who she is lah. :/ and ding jie was looking for HUI JUAN haha. but hui juan was busy. and ALOT OF PEOPLE WERE ATTRACTED BY THIS CUTE GUY IN SCHOOL. no it's not ding. not han sheng. not ky. that guy knows who he is lah. HAHA. (: anyway, asked sok and company to go home first. if not they would have reached home at 12.30 midnight, the time which i reached home. :/ pictures after concert in the bandroom!  omg i look fugly. :/ HAHA! the double bassist! (:went KAP to celebrate afterthat. with jiaying, jasmine, melanie, germaine, sabrina, mellissa and many others.sat down to read letters and indulge in food. was too tired to do anything else. and germaine's dad fetched sabrina, jasmine and i home after that. GROOVY GROOVY SEXY SEXY NYCB I LOVE YOU GUYS. AND THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. this part onwards will be abit more personal. you can stop reading. 3 years of NYCB experience for me, 4 years for you. and i cant believe the first generation of double basses is going to pass down soon. ): still remember the first day in NYCB, when i met you. i never thought you as intimidating, only quirky. and maybe that's the reason why i was never a good junior. =x. cant believe 3 years just passed like this. cant believe you're going to pass down. cant believe im already sec 3, going on to sec 4. cant believe after 3 years of playing with you by my side for every band prac, it's going to be mian jun for the next year. cant believe the only section mate and the only senior i have for the last 3 years is going, and from now onwards, i have no senior to look up to. i'll miss you JASMINE TAN. your madness and crapness and quirkyness during band. cause it's different having a primary six beside me. suddenly everything seems nostalgic.  LOVE YOU, JASMINE TAN! <3>and im sorry i cried for you vefore you did on concert night. :/ and and, WE STILL DONT HAVE A SECTION PHOTO. WE'RE THE ONLY PATHETIC SECTION WHICH DOESNT HAVE A SECTION PHOTO. you better come back and take one section photo with MIAN JUN and i okay! and we'll photo-whore like never before.
