today was chinese again, just going through paper 1 and stuff. D: i dont feel motivated to do any chinese at all wth. ._.
after school went to music lab with caitong, and qian and kexin decided to tag along cause kexin wanted caitong to sing for her. haha. we ended up playing bridge after borrowing cards from celine.
woah. playing bridge with qian and kexin is just damn hilarious man.
throughout the i dont know how many games we played, i just couldnt stop laughing lah. it was just alot of exclamations and screaming. like "EH WHY YOU EAT ME!", "YOU'RE NOT MY PARTNER WHAT." "HELLO ARE YOU BLIND!" points to card and the other person starts stabbing self.
then there was one game where i won the bid, and then placed two aces, 1 club 1 heart, then qian, kexin and nat were supposed to place their cards accordingly. and then someone stupidly placed 2 club cards and no heart cards, so the club set had 5 cards, and the heart set had only 3 cards.
then kexin was like "EH WHY LIKE THAT! WHY GOT 5 CLUBS!" then qian and nat started pointing to each other saying "you never put the heart right!" and they were like arguing and quarelling, damn hilarious lah. then qian was like HAIYA COUNT CARDS LAH. but they didnt realise it was of no use cause there were still 8 cards thrown in total. ._.
and then they washed again. PERFECT. MY NICE CARDS GONE.
"eh now remember must count your cards arh!"
"and PLEASE DONT BE STUPID AND PUT TWO CARDS FOR 1 SET"

oh then qian was like "I WANT MCWINGS CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CALL FOR MAC DELIVERY" throughout the whole process lah wth. in the end when she called for mac delivery herself, she was like "hello i want a apple pie!" in a damn smug and self-satisfied tone to the phone. -.-
and when the delivery came and she received the call, she went "oh YAY okay i'll go down to collect it now." then after she hang up, "VAL CAN YOU PLEASE GO DOWN AND HELP ME GET MY MACS."
HAHAHA. that woman arh.
in the end it ended at like 5.30. i think caitong sings nicely! :D haha. sorry for making you go back so late! =x

the past 2 years in music has been really enjoyable. music was the only class that i looked forward to having every week, and we only had 1 lesson per week. D: i'd like to believe that i've grown from it. it has widen my views and perspectives on music, and deepen my insights to it. even though i wasnt as good a student as i hoped that i would be, and that i didnt do as well in music as i hoped to, i've gain much from it, especially on world music.
world music's been my favourite component on this course. with things like indian music, (pro tabla guy! <3) and gamelan, it's hard for one not to appreciate the beauty of music. it has also made me feel more connected to the world, like gemma and her flute teacher playing gamelan in new zealand. only then did i really feel that the sentence "music is universal" made sense. it's really heartwarming when you travel to another country and see them playing the same music as you do, cause somehow, you just feel connected in a way. y/n?
music has cured my heart during my saddest times, accompanied me during my happiest moments, and made me strive harder for my goals.
so how am i supposed to let go. D:
i've leant so much, i even feel guilty now for not continuing my learning.

my nightmare for IH came true. well sort of. :/
i dreamt that i failed one component for IH, and did really well in the other. but because i failed that one component, i failed that whole paper. then in my dream, i broke down. D: cause i was like wth!? and then geog lim was like comforting me. o.O
and in the end: essay: 24/25 SBQ: 13/25 ._.
like urgh! it's almost the same as my "nightmare" just that it's like ONE mark to full marks, and ONE mark to fail. so extreme! D: and i didnt fail the paper. -phew!-
overall i thought i did pretty well, but obviously, i could have done much better. like always. ._.
estimated overall: 5 A1s, 2 A2s, 1 B4. 8 subjects due to additional music.

i think some of their games are really cool, and it's really amazing to see how much hardwork some of the game designers have put into their small little games. the graphics, the sounds, the level of difficulty...it's all so detailed and well planned! :D
i loved covert front. the game's set in germany during the world war 1 and it has some detective thingy for you to click around and get stuff to solve your mystery etc. it has really good sound effects, i mean considering that the game's supposed to be a small online game, it's sound effects are much better than the others. but the series hasnt finished yet. :/
then there's daymare town, where the "characters", or rather the "creatures" are love! i love the cute fuzzy, whose main purpose in the whole game was just to tell you that you're on the right track. the graphics can be called postmodern. it's quite cool actually. but the problem with these two games is that they're both too mind boggling. D: i got stuck like dunno how many times and i just gave up D:
but fortunately, the site provides you walkthrough for mind-boggling games like these. :D in many other different languages besides english too! e.g. spanish, french and polish. and i think russian :/ not sure. so if you're stuck, you can always refer to the walkthroughs.
which was basically what i did after i gave up. =x.
i just finish the daymare town2, which was created by this polish architecture guy. the game's really cool, it's mainly a story that "takes you through a creepy, illustrated world that you can navigate with simple clicks of a mouse. The tasks necessary to get through the maze are logical steps that aren’t always as easy as clicking the mouse. Some tasks involve combining elements in your inventory while others require you to perform an action while an animation occurs onscreen (and those are some of the easy ones)." i must say i love the creatures, though some of them seem to be horrendously frightening. like the one in cherry street (i think). sometimes you go in and she's just standing at the corner, and other times when you go in, she's in the center of the room, staring straight back at you.
D: really creepy. i got scared and backed right out.
the games really mind boggling, which was probably why i liked it. :D but i think if i hadn't referred to the walkthroughs, i wouldnt have been able to complete the thing, even if i was given a week. D:
