just came from dinner celebrating my grandma's birthday with auntie sian lay and uncle lai from canada and all the relatives.

everytime we have these gatherings, im always excited to see everyone, yet im always left disappointed. you see the ugly side of people.

i never thought that such things like 重男轻女 would still exist in today's context, especially since we're in singapore. but i've just witnessed it. D:

and then the whole talk about academics and stuff. it's really tough, especially since there's like 3 people who've been to RJ, 1 in RG, 1 in RI, and one who's gone through HC.

talk about rivalry.

i dont know if i should consider myself fortunate or what. i dont have to go through O levels, not much stress compared to some others. but it's really tiring when you're expected to achieve that much, and you know that you're not cut out for it all.

best still, when you know this isnt the life you want.

and there's all the talk about the economic downturn. the way they put it, it's like it's confirmed we're all going to suffer and feel the loss. even though U.S. "supposedly" benefited from their bail out, europe's not doing well, australia's not much better.

what's going to happen to us?

the feeling of uncertainty sucks. D: months ago, i was so confident of what i really wanted in life.

now, i just feel like i dont know life long enough.

i dont care. im just gonna carry on doing my stuff, and persuing the things i really want in life.
