SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE ME!!!! :D" finally talked to eugene (the engineer not from our dept/one who looks like ben chai) and woah he's really nice. :D found out he was the one who sort of created datapower, cause datapower was his project, and so he's the ultimate know-it-all for datapower. and when he heard that i had to do a project for the attachment, he was like "okay i can print some information on datapower for you. :D" "HAHA i know you guys like right! then you can have reference report for your own report!" -BIG GRINSS- yea but he's really nice. he spoke to me for the first time today, and the talk was quite long. he took time to explain the datapower and everything really clearly and stuff. :D my dept has really nice people. :D kang: "不要拿别人的缺点来当笑点!" ahkang win lah. siew hang, ah kang and i were watching our malay LC doing op 200 on the datapower. ahkang, who was already certified, was supposed to help her, and siew hang was supposed to cert her. then siew hang was like "eh before you do your operation did you read the MPI?" ahkang: "什么是MPI?" SH: -heads wall- "我每天都在写的东西lorh!" for your info, MPI (manufacturing process information) is like a manual thing written by the engineers for the operators to follow when they do the operations. operators are supposed to read and follow the MPI before doing an operation. i was made to read all the MPIs for all ther operations for REEF on my 2nd day of work, and ah kang didnt know what a MPI was. win. then ahkang was like asking what my name was but he couldn't remember. he had to keep asking susan. and the whole thing was just damn hilarious. 10 minutes after first asking what my name was: ahkang: "eh 死了，我又忘记她叫什么名字了！什么什么颖huh? after many tries of guessing and asking siew hang, who didnt want to tell him, he gave up and ask susan again. then he was like: ah kang: "orh 秀颖！我刚才说对吗！then siew hang 又不跟我讲。噢你懂吗?" -points to siew hang- "你的号码在我的电话里只是放 HANG 而已，因为我不知道你的全名是什么。” SH: -mentally heads wall again- haha siew hang's really nice too. wth most engineers are really nice people, but they really lead a hard and tiring life. "in our department, we're just like 1 big family" -desmond i think im really lucky. im in a department which is kinda relaxed, not so boring, and filled with nice people. even though it's really tiring, cause you've got to stand for about 10 hours straight (from 8-6), and when i reach home it's about 8, the people and the things i've learnt and experienced makes it all worthwhile. like i was so tired, i slept at 1.30 last night, and woke at 2 in the afternoon today. ._. win. desmond's really nice. i was supposed to do this report for ang, which was supposed to be on this new harddisk with 450 GB storage, like if it passed all the tests, and whether it's ready to be sold to customers etc. at first i was like omg what?! what if my report is wrong, and then they're going to hand it up to the managers?! won't i die? but then desmond was like "aiya nevermind, i kinda helped you do already so you don't have to do it. don't worry, just enjoy learning." :D omggg nice people. :D then there's lek, who's a technician. im not attached to him, im attached to reef, which is the production side, yet he's like "eh you got msn? give me your add i add you, then got anything you dont know for your report can ask me. :D" he's like one of the nicest people on earth. his shift is like from 8-5.30, like mine, but he stays on to do all the troubleshooting and debugging etc until really late at night. "take A train ride jim: tired man yesterday took last train and bus home." so it's like he does OT without extra pay. who the hell does that! :O and even when he's given an hour breaktime for lunch, he doesnt use 1 hour, i think he only uses 15 mins, and then goes back to work. then when he's free (when he's not being called around by the operators to solve the problems or when he's not in a midst of solving one, that is) he even bothers to call me and show me around, to explain the process of the datapower and how he tries to solves the failed datapowers and stuff. and when it's 5.30, he even bothers to ask why im not going home. ._. and im not attached to him at all. really. such nice people dont exist. it makes me guilty. but life's really tough as an engineer in the production line. it's like if there's a new product e.g. the datapowers, and if they fail the tests, you've got to troubleshoot it. and in my dept which has 2 major products (reef & datapower) the technician has to troubleshoot all the problems for all the tests e.g. drawer tests, chamber tests etc. it's really madness. you can hear all the operators calling for lek every few seconds if a machine fails the test and then he has to run around the whole dept solving all the problems. and if he cant solve them, the operators will have to reject the products to the engineers who have to solve the problems and rework the entire machine. currently there's like 20 or more datapowers which have been rejected by the operators and are lining up to be seen by the FA (failure analysis) engineers, and lek says it takes like a day to solve just 2 or 3 datapowers. win. oh on thurs there was something really funny. i was watching this chinese guys build the chassis (sorry i forgot his name. let's call him A.) then he was tested by SH, the engineer for operation 40, which was building the chassis. then ah may, and ani came to join in the fun. then B was like telling me about SH. ani: "eh. 你知道hor，-points to SH and ahmay- 这两个人很坏的leh. 有一次我要塔飞机, 第一次塔飞机ma, then这两个人来吓我，跟我说那个飞机会摇，会动的!" -ahmay and SH starts laughing- SH: "这是真的吗！” ani: "你hor，说话很直接leh，还做engineer！笨lah!" -then SH starts watching A build the chassis, and then A didnt follow the procedures, and SH started to scold him- A: "你说话可以不要那么直接吗？ 会伤到别人的心的!" ani: "你看lah! 笨arh 你! 笨!" -SH starts hissing, couldnt take it anymore- A: "eh! 你去撞墙吧！” -SH turns around to hit his head on the pillar- ani: "EH 不可以！你神经病阿！等一下他撞墙着整个builing 倒下来, we all MATI ARH! ” ah may: “对lorh，你想死我们却不想死leh！等我们下楼走出这个building你才来撞墙吧！” ani: "ya lorh! HAIYO SH ARH. 等一下我们都死怎么办！还有这个小妹妹！来不到一个星期就要跟你死!” ahmay: -cannot control laughter- "笨！ 你怎样做engineer的arh!" ani: "你也是！-turns around to point at A- 从中国来的！怎么可以叫他去撞墙呢！我知道你不要考但也不能这样吗！笨lah 你！ 笨！" it was damn hilarious cause SH and A's facial expressions at the 2 women's accusations were priceless. i was literally rofl. then yesterday was lek's turn to be hilarious. i was watching katherine doing the test for datapower then i think aya came up to her to pay her money to buy toto. katherine: "okay later i hit 1 million then i come and find you to give you the money. haha!" -laughs at her own joke- -desmond walks past and hears her- desmond: "eh WHAT WHAT. WHO GOT 1 MILLION?!!?" katherine: "haha no lah! i was joking only. she ask me help her buy toto, then i say if i hit 1 million i'll give her the money lah! wheregot 1 million! if not. i'll be the boss of this company already!" desmond: "eh no lah. IBM costs more than a million (obviously)" katherine: "haha joking lah!" desmond: "eh if hit 1 million must treat us okay! all of us hor. the whole department!" katherine: "if i hit 1 million, then i treat you guys then no money already what!" desmond: "treat us lah! come on! we're your family!" katherine: "see how lah. haha!" -lek walks past- desmond: "eh lek! katherine says she got 1 million leh." lek: "1 million? 1 million what. kimzhua(ghost money) arh!" -.- wthh! damn hilarious. lek: "very cheap what! you give $10, then you have 1 million kimzhua! :D" then later when checking the test600 on the datapowers with aya. lek: "aiya FAIL AGAIN. everyday fail fail fail! sian." aya: "new product what D: what to do! you can fix or not!" lek: "try lorh. if fail again i dont care already lah! reject to the engineers." aya: "haha. very troublesome hor!" lek: "aye better then the chamber one lah. the chamber test one of the chamber down, then went to see weird weird one! then got hantu." aya: "HUH?" lek: "ya! the com there right, you move the mouse only arh can auto click by itself! HAHA." no lah. it's the engineers taking over the com. you know it's like the engineers can acess the chamber coms from their own coms in their offices at the office floors and stuff. lek: "must burn the kimzhua for them!" aya: "eh i dont mind! i can go there and do the rituals and help you guys burn the paper. but must pay me 4 bucks an hour hor!" lek: "then we must all follow around" -does the ritual action- aya: "eh not bad leh. can earn extra money." lek: "haiya. stress lah. TOO STRESS UNTIL SIAO ALREADYY." lek: "oh you know, last night when i went home i took bus, then fell asleep. when i woke up i was like EH WHY THE BUS DARK DARK ONE. the bus reached the interchange already. then the bus driver was like EH WHY YOU STILL HERE. then the engine off already so cannot pay. haiya stress lah. STRESSSS." "very few of us here actually do what we really want to do. to us, this is just a job" "you've just got to do it." -gordon. gordon's freaking lame. yesterday he called for a meeting for all the shift B people for they start work and he was trying to brief them about the safety measures and regulations. then he was trying to read the malay translations but FAILED TERRIBLY. and to make sure that the china people actually understood what he was saying, he made them read the chinese translation aloud. ._. and everytime he tried to do some funny imitation or he tried to make a joke, he'd try to catch my eye, hoping that i'd laugh but NO. NOT FUNNY LAH. then there's albert from QA, who keeps imitating me and my actions. D: haha. just for the fun of it. he was the one who held up the paper cut out of gordon's face during the very very long briefing on the safety measures etc, making all of us laugh like siao. oh lek's going for reservice for the next 2 weeks so i wont ever be seeing him again. "so now you know, better study hard, grown up next time and get a high-paying job." -Gordon. ziyan's blog saddens me. i've walked down the wrong road. 4 years wasted. i should have never picked up that instru. i picked it up without any intentions of really learning it anyway. seriously. it was just given to me by her. but when my parents asked (threatened, whatever) me to change my instru, i heeded her advice instead. only to regret it now. i've finally came to realise that music was my life, not hers. it meant everything to me, it meant the world. but to her, music's just entertainment. after enduring 4 years of hardship, pain (like really physically, emotionally and mentally) , dissing, sterotyping, assumptions and ostracizing, after all that arguments, fights, and quarrels i've put up with, its come down to nothing. nothing at all. and now i dont know how to go on. i dont want to give up something i've already learnt, and i dont want to be looked down upon forever. it's a dead end. im stuck here, watching others like val and ziyan achieving their dreams, getting into YO, it's just heartbreaking. hcband concert's just another stab into my heart. wth. aren't we made to pursue what we really really want in life? why the hell do we have limits? limits and perimeters prohibiting us from realising our own dreams and really getting what we really want?' now im really torn. you keep cutting me open when i've healed, over & over again. there's no turning back. you live life once. sometimes the things you love the most just come around to hurt you the most. and life sucks. especially when it's full of regrets. --------------------- shift A was observing the re applying , hipot testing and the packing of the reef products. finally socialised with the china boys, who were all really funny and nice, though i cant understand their chinese sometimes. -shoots self- the staff had testing and certifying of the different operations by the engineers today too. SH(dont know his full name =x) was testing the operators, and is apparently well-liked by the others. okay he's nice. they had this damn hilarious joke between may, chao hui, SH and 2 other people but i've no mood to say now. well tell tmr. :D shift B was observing datapower. think technicians and engineers very poor thing. they have about 20 datapowers which failed the initial short tests (half an hour), so the technicians and engineers have the open up the whole freaking thing and do troubleshooting again & again & again. then the operators have to do re-working, then send the datapowers to the short test again, then if they pass the test, send them to the long test (15-20 hours). okay need to check duration of long test. engineers are cool though, like SH's cool. haha. oh and LEK's really nice. he offered to show me around and tell me about the datapowers and the production line for datapower even though he was really busy (he's a technician), and is always being called for by the operators. he's gone next week! D: for reservice. okay die die must ask him tmr. oh then there's 2 engineers called eugene! :D then when the operators call for eugene, both eugenes will respond haha. really cute. one of the eugenes (not the datapower engineer) look like an older ben chai. ._. then at 5.30 gordon was like eh build chassis and i died. the whole operation was supposed to take 5 minutes by a normal operator, but i took an hour. WIN. and i got no strength to push in all the parts e.g. the midplane, bezel etc. D: and the scanning of barcode was horror. i took like 5 minutes to scan 1 barcode. BEST. i like using the screwdriver to screw the screws in though. that's prolly the thing i do best, though it still takes damn long. oh and i was doing the operation with sally, gordon, leelee and another supervisor watching me lah wth. i think they scared i spoil their thing, (which i think i did) ._. and i kinda caused leelee to kena scolding by gordon, about the wriststraps and all. D: and i ate into all of their dinner break. i ended at 6.15, and their break was at 6. D: omg i think if this continues, they'll all hate me by the end of the attachment. i better not do anything. -.- gordon: "eh 1 hour arh? 1 hour not bad for a new operator. :D" great. sacarsm works best. oh ADALYN. it took me a little more than 1 hour to travel to work, and 2 HOURS to get home. WIN. ._. today was really fruitful, i love my dept people very much :D for both shifts A and B, the supervisors (desmond and gordon) and all the other fellow operators very nice lah! XD including all the technicians/engineers and the QA people. (yup our department's really really big. it consists of alot of LOVELY PEOPLE. :D) LOVES. <3 oh learnt alot stuffs today. cause i basically just kept asking people stupid questions, which helped alot cause im not really IT savvy. ._. and i dont really know much about hard drives and stuff etc etc. went for some meeting with desmond in the morning during A shift (from 7am to 3 pm), then went back to the reef dept and desmond asked rajas and angeline to chit chat with me cause i had nothing to do. ._. HAHA. then angeline was like "you wanna try to do the testing?" and i was like I DONT DARE. D: cause the testing involved some electric circuit to test for current leakage and i scared afterwards the thing baozha then how!?! >.< then angeline and rajas laughed at me. and told desmond. -.- best lah. i wanted to dig a hole in the ground to hide myself omg. D: then desmond laughed at me. SO MALU. >.< lunched with eileen down at the canteen cause the cafe was freaking ex. like one piece of brownie (though it was quite big) for $3.80, and pasta at no less than $5.50 D: like our pay alot like that. then met laiweng, huiing and another girl (opps sorry! =x dont know your name. >.<). and laiweng was like taunting me about their 5th level pantry which has nice vending machines with nice coffee, mocha, milo, cappucino etc etc you get the idea. and IT'S FREE. wth why dont we production people have excess to the 5th level! D< roarrrr. the cappucino's really nice btw. :D read laiweng's blog. okay i have no idea how to do my report. D: damn screwed. i need to ask desmond tmr about the 450 GB harddisks. and oh yes. DONT WE NEED PICTURES FOR OUR REPORT?! :O okay for tmr, i need to, erm, learn to talk to the china boys. :D cause they dont understand english, and i have to converse with them in chinese, but i dont understand their chinese. ._. so much for being a chinese. i learnt that it's great to know more malay btw, then i would understand what the other operators are saying when not addressing me. D: they all converse in malay! regardless of whether they're malays or chinese! like ?!! it's just 2 days and im getting hunched from standing all day long. (unlike someone e.g. laiweng. 生在福中不只福! D: ) read MPI today, went through the whole reef production line again, went for some welfare safety training after lunch, and then went for some DCC meeting on the 5th level today with gordon. was freezing cold in the reef/ kitting room, and was wearing like 3 layers of clothes, (spag, blouse and smock) and i was still freezing cold. almost went into hibernation mode. ._. and was complaining to KY, who was going to east coast with his class. (D: HAIYA.) had to put on jacket after that, making it 4 layers of clothes, and i felt feverish after that -.- MPI was really cheem D: i was like ?!?! whhhhuuutttt? ._. dont really understand. GCP stole my friends, i only had KY to complain and talk to via sms and to keep me awake while reading the MPI. okay i think i dozed off. =x. and just before i knocked off, the shift B people let me do operation 40. :D okay i think im useless. the operation, which was making this chassis, was supposed to be completed in like 10-20 minutes. i took half and hour ._. with help from others somemore. cause i was like, cannot scan the barcode, cannot push in the midplane and the kona card etc etc etc. sian. no strength. and i was like freaking blur about where to put what label. ._. and i keot tearing the labels. LOVELY. oh but my feet died. they're totally numb from all the bruises and cuts and erm, lack of blood circulation. okay i desperately need to go to the library, i've got NO BOOKS TO READ. went over to sok's house this morning to learn guitar from shaun. but no that guy was still in bed. NO CORRECTION: he was supposed to wake up at 9, but he woke at 10. and went back to sleep. -.- WIN. okay so i just stoned at sok's house, playing piano and watched the MTV EMAs. then sok and i headed over to cck complex for badminton with dingjie, wuqi, aloysius, shaun, wuqi's /aloy's friend, and yanyi, who came afterwards. i self-proclaim myself to suck at badminton. and to play with pro players like ding and wuqi and shaun is like ._. dont need to play already lah. we tried playing doubles and shaun and i were up against sok and wuqi i think. and shaun was just doing a one man show. quotes aloy: "yes yes! you just stood down in one corner, cover your head and dont do anything. OKAY VERY GOOD." -.- great. oh, but must thank dingjie and sok for their patience in coaching me. :D then afterwards, ding, shaun, yanyi, sok and i walked over to lot 1 to eat very late lunch (it was 4.30) or dinner. i think shaun's obsessed with pepper lunch. D: it smells very nice! and looks really enticing. :D (i've never eaten it before.) yes he should treat me someday. HEH HEH. :D oh then because ding put on his braces and couldnt eat his soup vermicilli, we were all like "AIYA I HELP YOU CUT THE NOODLES LAH" but no. we just ended up koping his food. and it was really hilarious cause it's really like "oh you dont want to eat already arh?" then we all start ATTACKING, as in literally attacking his food at all once. haha the scene was really hilarious. yanyi, sok, shaun and i walked dingjie home before walking to yanyi and sok's house together from lot 1. and shaun was complaining on the way haha. then yanyi went home, and shaun and i went to sok's house. shaun was just playing sok's guitar GEROME. and both of us were stoning. stoned for an hour, then shaun and i went home. okay i think i exercised alot today. :D no who am i kidding. ------------- MTV EMAs were great. i think liverpool did a really great job hosting it. the arena was PHAT, the performances were great, the atmosphere was just there. quotes some random comment on youtube, "wow this is so much better than those american award ceremonies. :D" britney and 30 seconds to mars both won 2 awards, p!nk won 1 (:D!), katy perry won 1, kanye west won 1, and well, you have the other winners. tokio hotel won best headliner, triumphing over metallica, who came in 3rd, and linkin park, who came in 2. :D they also won the BEST LIVE BAND award from the MTV EMAs, but i think it's an unofficial award. :/ idk. it's not in the press, but it's on BILD.DE. loved p!nk's performance totally. i thought it was the most outrageous, the boldest performance of the night. okay fine, katy perry's comparable. but i only loved her "hot and cold". p!nk performing "so what." god, she's great. she's like the only person who dared to walk through the crazy crowd with just 2 bodyguards, and god it looks horrid. haha. oh katy perry was so drama with her hosting at the beginning, even p!nk had to laugh haha. so last year the EMAs had rain (tokio hotel's monsoon), and this year, feathers. what's in for next year? i loved kanye west too. :D though he didnt sound too good. but he's cool. kanye west performing love lockdown, and american boy with estelle. haha loved the OBAMA at the end. nah j.k. oh and estelle's dress is totally O.O beyonce sounded the best last night. she sang "if i were a boy". the ting tings were great too. :D duffy wasnt that bad, but her voice O.O a little scary. ich liebe Tom! 10:36 PM Thursday, November 6, 2008
